Osteoarthritis – the longing for connection

Osteoarthritis – The longing for connection

Osteoarthritis – the great longing for connection. On a physical level, osteoarthritis is a  degenerative  joint disease, a form of joint wear and tear based on wear and tear in the articular cartilage. But what is the language of the soul here?

The underlying emotional theme of osteoarthritis is the need for recognition and love, which takes on a life of its own and seeks to be achieved by any means necessary. The deep longing for connection has displaced one’s own inner security, self-respect, and self-worth. The joints now take on the role of teacher, the friend, to point out where I have fallen into immobility and where change is needed.

The astonishing thing about osteoarthritis is the observation that in a mentally balanced state there is often no symptoms, despite reduced cartilage thickness, but in situations of psychological pressure it is sometimes accompanied by severe pain.

Osteoarthritis in the cervical spine

The cervical spine, the axis of rotation of the “upper brain.” Pain in this area indicates that one’s own “head” has become a burden. Rigid thinking, worldviews, and adherence to beliefs no longer allow for pain-free changes in direction. Constant brooding and a purely analytical approach to conflicts, without perceiving and integrating one’s own feelings and those of the other party, are also part of this.

Osteoarthritis in the shoulder area

provides insight into whether we are managing our “burdens” or have been carrying them around unresolved for years. Shoulder problems restrict our range of motion and prompt us to question what is limiting us in our lives. For example, what responsibility do I constantly assume and bear for other people or institutions? Do I feel solely responsible for their happiness and success and take their failures personally?

Osteoarthritis in the fingers

The hand is the extended arm of the heart. The right hand represents taking, and the left hand represents giving. Thus, they reflect the personal qualities of love and compassion, the degree of one’s sense of reality, one’s determination, and the fear of taking action.

Osteoarthritis in the spine,

The spine, especially the thoracic and lumbar spine, is an indicator of whether I adhere to a certain attitude toward things or others. Can I stand up straight for myself, walk through life with my head held high, or do I walk through life bowed? Our spine is our first-class gauge of uprightness and reflects our inner attitude toward things.

Osteoarthritis in the hip joints

It can reveal where someone is too timid to take up their space, be it in a relationship, family, private life, or at work, or allows themselves to be intimidated or pushed back. Or where they tend to exaggerate and overstep boundaries. Hip joints = balance and determined progress. The topic of hip osteoarthritis raises the questions: Where am I neglecting myself, pushing myself away, getting stuck in a victim mentality, and blaming circumstances and my environment for my fate? Where am I not listening to my deepest desires?

Osteoarthritis of the knee joints

Knees generally represent assertiveness and a proud self. The left knee represents fear of ego death, lack of flexibility, immobility, stubbornness, and fear of change. The right knee represents the need for security. The degree of knee flexibility is often an indicator of how a person deals with life’s challenges: dynamically, rigidly, or slackly. Rigid (bent) knees only convey the illusion of security. The person in question is afraid of flexibility. The forces of life’s paths, family, and one’s own, converge in the knees. The topic of knees therefore has a lot to do with the future and the past, and how I deal with them and face them—flexibly or inflexibly, stubbornly, proudly, or unyieldingly.

The knees: Where in my life am I still too inflexible, too compliant, or too easily influenced? Where are there still conflicts with my mother, my father, or my child? Or who or what do I absolutely not want to bend or bend to?

Osteoarthritis in the foot joints

The ankles, in turn, represent a stable foundation on which you can support yourself and your  self  . You follow your inner voice and your decisions, take turns with ease, your mind is open, and you give your emotions their space. Problems in this area lead to the question: What is preventing you from moving lightly along your path? What or who is holding you back?

Overview of unresolved emotional aspects of osteoarthritis and what can I do?

Since many of these aspects relate to the root and sacral chakras, you can also work with the Chakra Set . On the physical level, the Flame, the First Aid Tool, and the Calming Set  are recommended.
